NASA - We Drive Harder

Welcome to the National Auto Sport Association. We are a business dedicated to organizing and promoting racing activities for both the aspiring or accomplished racer.

The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) was formed in 1991 to deliver high quality motorsports events to enthusiasts at major racing venues throughout the nation. NASA has created programs that allow owners of both racecars and high-performance street-driven vehicles to enjoy the full performance capabilities of their cars in a safe and controlled environment. NASA offers many different programs that will allow you to enjoy motorsports on a number of different levels, including our High Performance Driving Events (HPDE), Rally Sport, Time Trial, NASA-X and Competition Racing programs.

HPDE
If you are interested in learning the basics of High Performance Driving, or simply want to drive your car on a racetrack in a controlled and professionally staffed environment, then HPDE is for you. HPDE gives drivers a chance to test their skills and learn from NASA’s cadre of experienced instructors in a venue designed for safe spirited driving far away from the risks present on the street. NASA’s HPDE program has become the standard for the “open track” industry and features multiple skill levels to ensure that drivers are able to enjoy a safe and fun day at the track.

NASA-X
NASA-X is NASA’s version of autocross with classes determined by base car classifications and then assigns points for upgrades similar to the TT program. Autocross is an excellent entry into motorsports and the easy to understand NASA-X rules make the program even more attainable for nearly any enthusiast with the desire to compete in a safe and controlled environment.

Time Trial
NASA’s Time Trial (TT) program offers drivers a chance to compete against the clock to knock down the quickest lap time on many of the country’s best racetracks. TT classes are determined using a system that assigns a base class to a car and then moves the car into a different class based on the modifications done by the owner. This format allows enthusiasts to enjoy a wide range of aftermarket upgrades while still being able to compete in a fair environment. More information on the TT program can be found here.

Rally Sport
Our Rally Sport program continues the tradition of rallying in the United States and adds additional excitement with Rally-X and Rally Sprint programs that offer a taste of the adventure of true stage rallying. The Rally Sport program also features the United States Rally Championship, which is a national championship series that includes some of the best roads and most famous stages in the country.

Competition Racing
If you are interested in wheel to wheel racing, then our competition racing program is for you. NASA has created racing programs that accommodate all sorts of popular vehicles with rules that encourage aftermarket modification. NASA has a class for almost any type of vehicle ranging from Production Sedans, Stock Cars, and Formula Cars. If you do not posses a competition license, NASA has programs that will allow you to participate in a racing school to become qualified to race. If you are currently racing with another recognized organization, NASA welcomes you to our program and accepts competition licenses from many different sanctioning bodies.

Membership
NASA members are entitled to enter and participate in any NASA event across the country and membership includes an array of benefits including vendor discounts and a complimentary subscription to Grassroots Motorsports magazine which includes a section devoted to NASA’s newsletter, Speednews. Members will also receive a colorful hard card membership card that will identify them as part of the organization and a welcome packet that includes more information on the many benefits and programs available to NASA members. While participating at events, all NASA members are covered by an extensive insurance policy, which includes General Liability, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, and Excess Medical coverage.
