NASA ANNOUNCES MX5 Challenge

The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) and SpecMiata.Com owner, Jim Daniels, are pleased to announce a new class featuring the 2006 Mazda MX5. The new class was developed to allow pro and amateur racing enthusiasts a place to compete in the new and soon to be popular 2006 Mazda MX5. The cars use a spec formula similar to the very successful Spec Miata series and are eligible for both professional and amateur racing events.

“I am very excited about this new series. It seems to have a lot of appealing qualities and I am looking forward to seeing its success,” said Jerry Kunzman, NASA Executive Director. Jim Daniels added that “I recognized that the new car needed more places to race for its growth as a racing platform to be realized, so I decided to work with NASA to create this class. Having spent the past 6 years developing the Spec Miata class, I have the same gut feeling for success we have seen there for this new series. I approached NASA because of their progressive stance in providing a place for car enthusiasts to compete while keeping current with their members' interests.”

The new series will be eligible for competition at NASA events coast to coast. For discussions regarding the new class visit http://www.SpecMiata.com
