NASA Announces Spec Neon And Spec SRT

NASA is pleased to announce two new classes featuring the popular DaimlerChrysler Neon. The Spec Neon (SN) class focuses on the first-generation cars and is designed to provide affordable thrills with a tight set of rules that will ensure close competition. The class has provisions for both SOHC and DOHC-powered cars and will use the Toyo RA-1 that has served as the workhorse spec tire for many other NASA classes.

The other class features the Dodge Neon SRT4, which is one of the hottest sport compact cars on the road and the track today. The SRT class allows for more preparation than SN, but still has limits set to control costs and encourage competition on the track rather than in the budget department.

Rules are now available here and a new discussion section for SRT and SN has been added to NASAForums.com here.
